
As part of its efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian standard passport, The Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the passport effective 1st September, 2024.

2. Based on the review, the 32-page Passport booklet which has a validity of five years Previously priced at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00) will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) only while the fee for the 64-page Passport booklet with a validity of 10 years has been raised from Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00) to One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).
However, please note that the fees for those in the Diaspora will remain the same.

3. While the Nigeria Immigration service regrets any inconvenience this increase might cause prospective applicants; it assures Nigerians of unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.

REASONS FOR PASSPORT PRICE INCREASE
- Improvement in Passport Quality: The increased fees will contribute to producing passports with better durability and quality, aligning with international standards.
- New and enhanced security features
- Improved accessibility and more faster processsing: The fee increase is aimed at making passports more readily available, with faster and more efficient processsing times.
- Increment in production costs: The rising cost of materials and production processes has necessitated an increase in passport fees.
- Expansion of collection centres: More passport issuance centres will be established, espercially in remote areas to enhance accessibility.
